This Quick Start Guide is designed to get you up and running swiftly, ensuring you make the most of WeekCal's powerful features. From integrating external calendars to creating your first events, we've got you covered. Let's dive in and make scheduling a breeze with WeekCal!
Set App Permissions
Upon installing WeekCal, you will be prompted to set several permissions:

Calendars: Enable access to your device calendars. This allows WeekCal to seamlessly integrate and display your events.

Reminders: Grant permission to access your reminders. This ensures that WeekCal can provide you with timely reminders for your scheduled events.

Contacts: Enable access to your contacts for effortless event invitations.

Notifications: Allow notifications to stay informed about upcoming events and reminders.

Location: WeekCal may request location permission to provide location-based features such as:
- Event reminders tied to specific locations.
- Time-to-location features, enhancing your scheduling experience based on your current location.

Allow Full Access - This is an essential permission that allows WeekCal to interact with your calendar information.
Please note that any of these permissions can be changed, at any time, in your device's permission settings.
Start in Week View
Upon opening the app, you'll find yourself in the Week view. This offers a convenient snapshot of your schedule for the entire week. Events and appointments are displayed in a user-friendly format, making it easy to plan your week at a glance. This is the default view for WeekCal.
Access Calendars and Reminders Page
To manage your calendars and reminders effectively:
- Locate and tap the Calendar icon at the bottom of the screen.
- This action will open the Calendars and Reminders page, providing a centralized hub for organizing your schedules.
Choose Calendars to Display
Customize your WeekCal experience by choosing which calendars to display. Here's a breakdown of available options:

iCloud Calendars:
- Associated with your iCloud account.
- Enable them to sync seamlessly across your Apple devices.

Subscribed Calendars:
- Includes Holidays, Sports schedules, and more.
- Toggle to display or hide these calendars based on your preferences.

Other Calendars:
- Birthdays, Siri Suggestions, and other miscellaneous calendars.
- You can disable Siri Suggestions if you prefer not to receive event suggestions from Siri.
Adding External Calendars
WeekCal supports integration with external calendars such as Google and Outlook. To add these calendars:
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Scroll down and select "Calendar."
- Look for the "Accounts" option then "Add Account"
- Choose the external calendar you want to integrate.
- Follow the prompts to connect your account.

Adding a New Event in WeekCal
Creating a new event in WeekCal is simple.
- First, tap the Add Event button to begin creating your event.
- Enter a name for your event in the Title field.
- Set the Start date and time for when your event will occur.
- Decide if you want to receive a reminder and choose the notification time, if needed.
- Once you're done, simply tap Done.
