Quick Add with AI in WeekCal
Quick Add with AI is a natural-language event-creation feature in WeekCal that lets you create calendar events by typing or speaking. Powered by Apple Intelligence, it understands everyday language and turns it into a complete event in just seconds.

Quick Add with AI relies on Apple Intelligence and is available only on supported devices running iOS 26 or higher.
You can find the full list of compatible devices and requirements here: Apple List of supported devices.

TIPS
Quick Add with AI lets you create events without completing multiple fields. Instead of manually entering a title, time, and location, you can describe the event the way you would say it out loud.
Examples:
- “Lunch this Friday at 1 pm at Urban Cafe.”
- “WeekCal Team meeting tomorrow from 10 to 11 AM."
- “Eye exam, February 2, 2026, at 9 am.”
WeekCal can detect:
- Event title
- Date and time
- Suggested location
Using audio to create events successfully
When speaking an event out loud, these tips can help improve accuracy:
- Say the date and time clearly
Example: “Friday at 1 pm” or “December 19 at noon” - Use natural phrases like “tomorrow,” “next Monday,” or “this weekend.”
- Include a clear title or action
Example: “Lunch,” “Meeting,” “Call,” or “Appointment” - Mention the location if relevant
Example: “at the office” or “at Urban Cafe” - Pause briefly between details if speaking quickly
- Avoid combining multiple events in one sentence
FAQs
Do I have to use Quick Add with AI to create events?
No. If you prefer to create events manually, simply skip the Quick Add with AI field and start by entering your event details in the Title field, just as you always have. From there, you can add the date, time, location, and any other details, then save the event normally.
Why do I get an error when typing at the top of the screen?
The field at the top of the screen is the Quick Add with AI field. It uses Apple Intelligence to create events from natural language. If Apple Intelligence is disabled on your device, typing in this field can trigger an error. To avoid this, you can either enable Apple Intelligence on your device to use Quick Add with AI or skip the Quick Add with AI field and create your event manually.
