If your Time Zone is changing unintentionally please disable Time Zone Support,
if you want to be able to change the Time Zone, for example, if you're a frequent traveler, just enable it.
Always ensure your device uses the same time zone everywhere.
Please be aware there are two different Time Zones in your iOS device Settings
- iOS Device Settings > Calendar (or Mail, Contacts, Calendars in iOS9 and below) > Time Zone Override
- WeekCal Settings > General > Date & Time
Although WeekCal only uses the first one we recommend keeping them the same to avoid confusion.
How to Disable Time Zone Support
In System Settings
- Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Tap Time Zone Support
- Switch OFF Time Zone Support
In WeekCal
- Tap on the little Gear icon in the bottom bar
- Tap on Settings
- Go into the Calendar entry
- Tap Time Zone Support
- Switch OFF Time Zone Support
Example
- You create an event in your home time zone London (which is GMT) at 12:00h
- You travel to New York where time zone is equal to GMT-6 in the winter
- Your device time will 6 hours earlier now
- As a result your event will be shown at 6:00h in NY time
How to Enable Time Zone Support
In System Settings
- Tap Mail > Contacts > Calendars
- Tap Time Zone Support
- Switch ON Time Zone Support
In WeekCal
- Tap on the little Gear icon in the bottom bar
- Tap on Settings
- Go into the Calendar entry
- Tap Time Zone Support
- Switch ON Time Zone Support and ensure settings are equal to the system settings of your device as described above
Example
- You create an event in your home time zone London (which is GMT) at 12:00h
- You travel to New York where time zone is equal to GMT-6 in the winter
- Your device time will 6 hours earlier now
- Because you fixed your calendar to display events in London time zone your event will still be at 12:00h
How to ensure that your iOS device and WeekCal are using the same Time Zone Settings
First, check the default Time Zone of your iOS device in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Time Zone Support
Then ensure WeekCal uses the same settings. To do so, please do the following:
- Tap on the little Gear icon in the bottom bar
- Tap on Settings
- Go into the Calendar entry
- Tap Time Zone Support
- Ensure settings are equal to the system settings of your device as described above
If this fails
Please remove your synced iCal calendars from your iPhone, wait 5 minutes and re-add them again.
This usually clears the Time Zone cache of your iCal calendars.
