  1. Tap the gear in the upper-right corner of the app to open Settings.

  2. Tap Calendar Preferences in the list.

  3. Tap New Event Defaults.

  4. Tap on Default custom color.

  5. Tap None in the list (or select a particular color of your choice). 

  6. Tap Back to return to the previous menu and then Done to return to the calendar.
